How to start using Private Messaging

  • Click Get Started button
  • Register for your foundational account on myViaPath Messaging
  • Go to View My Account
  • Request Professional Verification
  • This will send a request for validation of your Professional Status to the facility you’ve chosen for approval
  • If approved you will get an email with further instructions on how to set up your Private Messaging using your new Professional Status and speak privately with your incarcerated clients without worry of facility interference

IMPORTANT: once you submit your Professional Verification request in myViaPath Messaging be sure to make contact with your incarcerated client in myViaPath regular monitored messaging to establish the connection if you have not already. 

FAQs

Is Private Messaging available on desktop or as a mobile app?
Both. Web-based desktop login and usage as well as mobile app download and connectivity is available via the myViaPath Messaging App.
How do incarcerated clients access private communications?
Your incarcerated clients are able to access private communications through their myViaPath Messaging App on their tablet. No additional app or configuration changes required.
Can I share documents/files with an incarcerated client privately?
Yes. PDF, PNG, and JPG files are able to be shared privately and securely and viewable by your incarcerated client.
What document/file types does the service support?
Currently PDF, JPG and PNG photos are available. Video and audio will be available soon.
Will the shared PDF’s support Document signing or acceptance?
Yes. Both Incarcerated Adults and Attorneys (if needed) are able to electronically sign documents as well as see an audit trail for reference.
Will incarcerated clients be able to print Legal Documents shared in the service?
No. Legal Print Requests will be supported in a future release after we integrating a process that does not compromise the incarcerated clients privacy or expose our facility partners to any legal risk.
Can I manage multiple incarcerated clients?
Yes. Private Messaging allows the management of multiple incarcerated clients.
